The Basics of Microdermabrasion Everything you need to know!
Microdermabrasion resurfaces your skin. This treatment works effectively for all skin types. A deep exfoliation of the surface layers of the epidermis stimulates cell turn over, increases circulation, and oxygenates the skin. We use tiny crystals to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin cells. We do not use any chemicals or invasive procedures with Microdermabrasion. Most people experience a healthier and brighter complexion following Microdermabrasion. This skin treatment is truly wonderful, because though it offers deep exfoliation, it does not cause scarring or skin discoloration. Unlike dermabrasion it is much less aggressive, and does not require invasive needles or numbing medication. Though you can expect slight tingling during the procedure. Also, the recovery time is much quicker, which make it a client favorite! This amazing method has been around for almost 30 years and has proven results! We highly recommend it for getting that youthful glow!
We accomplish this procedure by using a Microdermabrasion Machine. This machine will gently exfoliate your skin using a high-pressure flow of very small crystals. These crystals can be made up of a number of substances, the most common of which is aluminum oxide, but others can include magnesium oxide, sodium chloride and even diamonds! The machine then removes the dead cells as well as the crystals, creating that smooth texture everyone desires.
Here are some benefits of Microdermabrasion:
- Circulation
- Enhancing the ability to absorb skin care products
- Pore Size and Health
- Reduces Acne & Blackheads
- Reduces the appearance of Acne Scars and other scarring
- Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
- It has been known to treat the following as well: age spots, dull skin, and hyperpigmentation
This treatment is also increasingly more safe than many other treatments for these problematic skin conditions. Microdermabrasion is known to be an effective form of treatment, where you may even see results after the first visit. Though we normally recommend between 4 and 8 treatments for the best results, though there may be some circumstances where more are required.
A few tips for after care after you receive microdermabrasion are as follows. Treat your skin with care similarly to having a sunburn for at least the first 24 hours after the treatment. Ensure you use lotion and spf following Microdermabrasion. Remember, the first layer of skin has been exfoliated exposing more sensitive skin. Though, this should not last very long. We can recommend some great moisturizers to soothe irritation. Other than that your Microdermabrasion is relatively low maintenance! We advise everyone to try it to see the amazing results and the glow that will follow!
