Holiday Beauty Tips Ringing in the New Year
With Christmas and New Years right around the corner I just wanted to address a few makeup and beauty concerns. Normally, we focus on skin health and well-being, but going into the New Year I want to make sure you are putting your best face forward regardless of the event! Below are some quick how-tos to ensure that you have a beautiful long lasting look for the whole day or night!
- Even when you are traveling make sure you are prepared with your normal skin care routine. Stress triggers both outbreaks of acne and psoriasis. This can totally derail your flawless face you are trying to show off!
- Make sure you get enough sleep, use your eye cream and put a cooling mask on at night after a day of shopping or baking. Puffy eyes are never in!
- While you are taking care of yourself remember to get some “me” time in. Take a breather, make time for your mental health. Stress shows on your face, but taking a few minutes to yourself will also help you to enjoy your family and friends and be more relaxed throughout the day and night!
- Though it may be drab outside your skin can still have a dewy glow! Just make sure you have exfoliated and grab some tinted moisturizer to bring out your natural skin tone! A plus is most tinted moisturizers have an SPF to protect your skin as well! Give yourself a just in from the cold wintery snow look with a little cream blush, dab a tiny bit on the tip of your nose to add some dimension.
- If you are experiencing chapped lips due to the chilly temperatures grab some coconut oil, mix it with some sugar and make a quick and easy lip scrub. Make sure you apply a heavy duty lip balm before you put on your lipstick; a red lip is a timeless statement that brings holiday cheer!
- Last, but certainly not least when you apply your eye shadow make sure you are using strategic colors. As we mature in age those shimmery eye shadows are not doing us any favors. Though they may be very trendy and super festive they tend to bring out every line and wrinkle. Make sure to use a matte powder eye shadow. Line the inside corner of your eyes with a light shadow to make your eyes look bigger and blend, blend, blend. Using these techniques will take your eye makeup game to the next level
