The summer is a time to kick back and relax, but don’t forget your skin protection. Whether you are planning a fun beach vacation or simply taking a leisurely stroll in your neighborhood, don’t neglect your skin. It’s time for that dewy summer glow we all look forward to! Below are the top 10 tips to keep your skin in great shape no matter where you are!

  1. Don’t forget lip balm with SPF in it! So often we don’t give enough attention to our lips. They can get sun damage, sunburned, and chapped like the rest of your face. The summer poses new threats to your pucker, so make sure you are providing protection!
  2. If you do in fact get a sunburn make sure you are taking a cool shower. When you take a hot shower it actually further dries out your skin. Not only does the hot water dry your damaged skin, but a cool shower can actually help with acne breakouts.
  3. It is time to make sure you are exfoliating! Need deep exfoliation? No problem! We got you covered with our microdermabrasion. We customize your treatment to ensure your skin gets the rejuvenation it deserves!
  4. Load up on melon, cantaloupe in particular. It is rich in antioxidants and provides extra hydration to your skin! Get ready for your skin to have a honeydew glow!
  5. Don’t neglect your legs! It’s time to show them off, make sure you are exfoliating and using lotion to make sure they look healthy. SPF is still important, and you can always use a sunless tanner for the golden look!
  6. Treat your sun spots! Melasma (a common skin discoloration consisting of dark spots, which can develop on the forehead, cheeks, and upper lip) is a summertime skin risk.
  7. With all the preventative measures for sun damage, you may experience an influx of acne. Experiencing breakouts? No problem, try our acne treatment! This treatment is excellent to clear your skin and make you feel like a million bucks!
  8. Remember Eye Cream!!! This is such a must year round, but especially when you are dealing with sun exposure.
  9. You can eat your SPF! There have been studies proving that eating a combination of Vitamin C and E can help protect you from sun damage. So grab a salad rich with citrus, berries, tomato, and vitamin E-rich nuts!
  10. Finally, DON’T FORGET YOUR SUNSCREEN! Even on the days that are cloudy, you can still get burned!

Enjoy the beautiful weather, but remember to take care of yourself. The best method to combat the sun is to avoid it, but give us a call when you need to repair damage. Many of our treatments will help with sun damage, dryness, and aging!
